Broken Wheel Bearings

    OK, this is a strange (no pun intended!!) deal that I have never come across before.

    Taking the rear end apart in the FED we just bought, found the left side wheel bearing outer race cracked.

    The previous owner also had the same thing happen and replaced the wheel bearing before.

    Strange 9" with 40 spline axles, correct Strange bearings, rings, and spacers. All bought new from Strange. Goes together easy with light tap from a dead blow hammer and rolls easy.

    Have not yet measured the housing end to see if it is out of round or big or whatever. Does not go back together like is is bent or out of line.

    Strange acted like this was unheard of.

    Tire shake?? Any ideas???

    Tire shake.. For sure. And FOR SURE not unheard of. Its a common problem on big HP cars that encounter tire shake. Floater will be your friend..lol

    back befor I put a toploader in the dragster if we ever got tire shake it would break the bearing casing....Dave Lowe
