So where do we get the helmet eject system? I had heard the Leahy box was coming so we had our car built with one. They need to hurry up and spec a catch can. NHRA should realize that none of us are John Force and we can't just call and get ten of them made same day.

I had Simpson install one on my new helmet at the beginning of this year. I would think they could install it on any of their helmets.

Brandon , I dont think your idea of using a whoopi cushion will work on someone with ahead as shapely as yours!:D unless the whoopi cushion was made out of a drum liner!

It's nowhere near that and it's stuff that keeps us safe. We had a problem with our car in Indy and hit the wall. I as the driver am thankful for the safety products, car was totaled and I was perfectly fine.

    Leahy Box $500
    Helmet liner installed $100
NHRA Catch Can from McKinney $1300+/- Spitzer will be making them as well, but I don't know how much his will cost. His will make you go faster though;)
NHRA mandated catch can line $15/ft
    Fireproof brake covering $20
    Parachute/Wing kit $100
Fuel line for Racaepak/Data Recorder $50 - If you don't already have steel braided.

It's only stupid and overpriced until it saves your ass.

    $$$$$$$$$$

    Ladies and Gentlemen.

its called spend, spend and keep spending. My team says to me
all the time, its part of racing.

Well if its for eveyone's safety, then lets do what we got to do.

I know it's all for saving us from ourselves, and yeah, it could save your ass, but the part I have a problem with is how one or two companies have the monopoly over these mandatory products. I'm sorry, that's crap.

One company makes the approved fire paint.
One company makes the approved shutoff box.

There's two expensive items (and I'm sure there's more) that they are free to charge whatever they want because they're the only ones who can provide them.

    John,
They always pick on the poor dragsters.
The way I read it you will also need the fireproof covering on all flexible brake lines, a manufacturers label on any of your rollcage padding, and approved puke tank and accepted hoses.
    Course I've been wrong before,
    Marty
