Got the car out, but had battery problems. Can,t spin the motor over fast enough to fire the mag. Had to use my RCD starter. They weren't happy @ the race. Be for I mount it on the crank, what do the blown NHRA pro mods use. I am limited to space. They are behind the seat. My fuel + Mag management is in front of the foot box. I am not going to move things around for them. Mlke what do you use, to start them. Looking for some info and some battery part numbers. Thank you Don Onimus donimus333@yahoo.com

    Battery booster pack

We have the same problem. So we use one of those battery boosters. Works great and we don't have to add the extra weight.:D

24volt starter with 2 Snyder Motorsports batteries. The 2 together are alittle bit bigger than a turbo start. Our starter is mounted on the right side with a McCamis starter mount bracket. Same as the Pro-mods use.

We use a PowerMaster High Torque starter and run it off two 12 volt batteries mounted in the back of the golf cart. We have a big plug just inside the passenger door but it could be mounted just under the rocker panel. Then we run a small 12 v battery like a motorcycle gel battery for the car electronics.

We do the same as Mike. Start the car on 24v, and carry a 8# battery onboard for electronic stuff.

We have to carry a "standard" car battery per rules , so we have an optima battery on the car and quick connect another one to make 24 volts just to the starter so it fires right up.

However we have had no trouble since switching to a CSR 24 volt unit. Its by far the best!

You see alot of auto shops use them. We don't have extra room for a 2nd battery, so that's how we start the car. You can pick one up at your local auto supply. If the link works, you'll know what I'm talking about.

on the pro mod, i use 2 oddyssey batteries (24v).. dave laehey (electrimotion) makes a switch that allows the car to fire on the pickup in the bottom of the mag while the car is cranking over. once the driver releases the starter button the mag then runs on the crank trigger. it's a very nice ,neat plug in harness and the car fires up very nice every time
