Could it be that the "corrosion" is actually the result of alky making the magnesium react? We ruined a real nice blower because the alky ate the mag.

A good friend of mine had his blower destroyed by what was thought to be a grounding issue, however he had been running a mag blower for several seasons pryor to installing this one without any issues. Ugly stuff.

we had the same thing happen 3 or 4 yrs. ago what happened was we ran the car on a match race on sat that nite it was raining so we put the car upstairs in the trailer very fast may i add we did not down service the fuel system because we was going to run on sunday in the later part of the afternoon well the blower was lock up could not figure out what went wrong...pulled the blower off to see that the fuel ran into the blower because the fuel shut off was open and there was this white paste packed into this thing..put on another blower and call mert littelfield and the first thing out of his mouth was ...its a mag blower it's locked up from corrosin..(miss spelled)..AND YES THE BLOWER WAS JUNKED...kept the end frames and rotors gears and drive and left the case at the track..a real bummer learning exp...Dave Lowe
this story is to tell people NOT TO BUY MAG BLOWERS

The dips seen through the mirror on the second pic are exactly what our mag blower looked like also.
Like Dave, we had an internal fuel leak problem that put alky in the blower inbetween events. Our blower also locked up.

    swiss cheese.

saw that happen to a mag blower manifold ages ago. back then some guys would hang the nose of a dragster by the ceiling of the trailer. Not good when you still got alky in it.

That Prizm lube should probably protect the inside of the case as well as helping reduce the wear on the stripping and seal the blower. Do you use it?

Magnesium corrodes as it draws moisture from the atmosphere, add this to the fuel also wanting to attract moisture, extra care needs to be taken.

When possible keep in the hot water cupboard and check regularily.

I have used & owned mine since 2002 with no problems at all.

Wizards Warehouse has the Prizm Gel spray. You should use it at least onece a race day. We spray a little in before each run to help seal it and make the stripping last longer.

I sell the the prizm blower gel for $ 5.50 per can plus shipping the only reason I sell it for this not $18.00 per can is I buy by the pallets I sell to don schumacher racing for all there top fuel teams..plus many other racers here on ITA..I don't make a dime off this just get a good deal for my own use and pass it on to other racers...Dave..620-249-5909 or race shop 620-231-8068

Would this lube be used on non magnesium blowers too? I assume it would but don't like to use that word.
