    Guys,

Need a glide good for 1800+, no brake, must have removeable bell. Racing 1/8 mile at 3000lbs.

I don't know crap about who makes good ones. I know some say they are good, but really aren't that great, so I figured I'd ask the people who would know from experience.

    Thanks for your help.

    Cameron at Torque Converter Services

Stand up guy who knows what it take to make a glide live with a blower in a door car. If he knew anything about a website he would probably be busier ;)
I think the Executioner has been 3.9s on one.

you may get a lot of answers but if you want to race a powerglide and NOT fix/work on/cuss/tear up/throw away a powerglide... call mike's transmissions in cali. he builds the 'be all end all' of racing powerglides

i've only had ONE of his glides and put several years on it behind both a blown alcohol and a 90% blown nitro motor. has HUNDREDS of runs on it and NEVER a single problem. in fact i send it back to mike to freshen it only because i feel guilty for never having to work on it. i change the fluid every 10 runs or so

i would also recommend buying your converter thru mike

I will throw one more into the hat and that is Neal Racing Pro Series Glide. This is the one that Tim Lynch and Steve Petty have found that holds up in their record breaking turbo Mustang. They have tried a few.

Go http://www.nealtrans.com/racing-transmissions.html and scroll down to the bottom of the page. $4700 is a lot of money but if it holds up then it is cheap.

I have had absolutely no problems out of my Coan "Ultimate Big Dog" glide. I also run there 10.5" converter. Never had 1 concern with it, been running it for 4 years and I change the fluid once a year.

    glide

Not sure what your looking to spend. I run on a extremely tight budget. I have a BTE with decent internals. (1.80 straight cut planetaries, 4340 output shaft, good clutches, stock pump) Nothing super trick. Paid about $2100 for everything. I make about 1800hp and have never had an issue with it. The converter is a Edge and has held up great. www.edgeracingconverters.com talk to Andre. Mine was about $700.

My car weighs 2505 and runs 4.60's@160mph.

I'm sure there are others out there making powerglides that live under great strain and stress. My personal experience recommends Mike's Transmissions or Neal Chance's glides. There both good to work with and know there stuff.

    Best glide

There are no better glides then Mike's Monister Glide's, call and talk to him, He will take the time to get it right the first time and he stands behind his product, he makes a lot of his own parts that no one else has, I have been racing for 7 years, BBC with a PSI 206d blower set up, we run in the low 6.0's and I could never blame that trans/converter for not doing there job or breaking, ever !!!!

    661 723 0081 ask for Mike.

    just my 2 cents

    good luck

Mike's !!! I've raced mike's when we were the quickest and fastest p.g. In the country,In the 1990's...he races and he understands what you need. I have never broken my mike's ,never...buy the best for your car and it will last.buy a p.g. For $800 and it won't...mike's has different prices for different horsepower...your range $2500 to $5000...call him and talk to him for better info...
    Don't know were you are located ! (mike's-california 661 723-0081)
rossler (330 530-5000) in ohio also builds a proven good p.g.. There are a ton of trany builders out there , only you can pick the one you want...........
    Thanks

I went 3.95 in the 1/8 and 6.13 in the 1/4 with Camerons transmission. If you live anywhere near Columbia S.C. you can't go wrong.

    Rocky Flanagan's ATI powerglide

Call ATI PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS. I have been running their powerglide for 2 years with zero problems. We have been as fast as 3.86 seconds in the 1/8 mile. These things are tough!
