When running a bit lean is normal for them to become a little bent like in the head (.005-.009) you can straigten then either on a lathe or with the fixture like the fuel guys used. just keep track on them because you don't want valve that just bend anyother 2 runs..

    Hope this helps

If they still seat and, after you grind them, there is still a margin all the way around and they still go up and down in the guide freely, you can run them. It's kind of like a piston, just pluggin a hole.

With the big spring psi's I hear about on ITA, how do you know if you have a warped valve besides taking them out and spinning them?

I used to be able to tell with a leakdown, now the bigger spring psi's seal up a slightly warped valve.

I asked this a while back, seems the only way to tell is to take them out and check with a dial gauge in a fixture or do it by eye.

Maybe a guy could use an on head spring compressor while doing the leakdown, this should release the spring psi from sealing the warped valve.
