A couple weeks again we went lean and popped the blower belt and the burst panel. We think the shutoff valve shook closed or the pump inlet hose collasped. Taped the shutoff and installed new larger solid line. We are at the track now testing and its not running right. In the pits its fine and the burn out aint to bad but when it launches its dead with fuel coming out of the headers and just has no power. 750 egts, fuel pressure, boost look normal

402 sbc, 14-71, msd 10, crank trigger, leaving off a delay box/ transbrake powerglide
    Suggestions?

Maybe the reason it ran in the past is because it had a lean problem. Now you have fixed all that it is just now running too rich. I say lean it out. Increase the size of the main jet or the pump sizer until that EGT starts coming up to 1050. A rich motor will flatline on rpm and will be super lazy.

I was wondering about the effect of a broken belt on poppets and the barrel. When a belt lets go I imagine sometimes the belt gaurd does not do its job fully and the belt slaps them around a bit, how often (if any) does this lead to damage to a poppet or the barrel where the part is not visibly broken but has some type of internal damage?
