the best and the only rods I run is brooks and this is strange but I just called jerry at brooks a week or so ago about what rods to put in a small block chevy I putting together my 67 camaro with a blown motor and on the bad side of the note they don't make any for the sbc..years ago I ran manley in a sbc and had good luck..now I going to lean towards bill miller.. let me know what you decide..Dave Lowe

Back when I ran a smallblock chevy I ran billet rods from Fowler engines http://www.fowlerengines.com/ and I never had a problem! The first pass on that motor we miscalculated the length of the burnout stop ,and the motor went to 13.500rpm and didn't hurt a thing!
In my BAE engine I run the billet rods from R&R http://www.rrconnectingrods.com/ and I'm pretty sure Mick Snyder runs the R&R rods as well.

You cant go wrong with either one of them.

I ran BME's in my blown small blocks and they worked great.
I got them direct from Doug Herbert.

They even had a good rod piston combination to offer depending on what head you have.

    BME and Arias.

How can anyone say someone's rods are the best in the business. All you can say you are happy with a manufacture. You can break anyone's rod. It's a matter of opinion. and the quality of your maintenance. You would be shocked at who runs the Brooks B2's. no matter what you hear. I will sigh this with my name Don Onimus

Don....my bad. i thought he asked for everyones OPINION...so i gave mine....not that it's worth 2 cents. i wasn't trying to convince the world there Don  i like the MGP because i know alot of people that run very hard and have great luck with them. they have great customer service, a great product, and are very easy to deal with. once again....just my opinion.

Darren, I agree with you about the MGP's and I think I'll go that way, and your correct in thinking that l was soliciting opnions,to make a decision.
What sort of life should I expect out of them when the engine doesn't go over 8,000 rpm and the blower is turned to 30%? Ball park, of course!

    Damien.....
now you are really trying to throw me to the wolves huh? ok, i will give you my OPINION...why not. i know a little about your combo from when we have talked in the past. we all know how many variables that will play into this....rpm's, tune-up, etc. i would say that you should be able to get at least a season out of them. call Mike or Noah and talk to them. once again...just an opinion.

I have a customer with a T/D that runs a blown SB. He runs GRP's and changes then once a year. 80+ passes. Been doing this for three years. Car runs 6.60's at 17# of boost. MGP has a nice rod also. A word of caution, when getting a price from MGP, tell them if you are using a credit card. My last order, I asked them for COD but they said they couldn't. Then added 5% to my order[$90] for a couple sets of rods.
