I have one but don't use it anymore. It just takes too much time. It is easier to tap the strip ontop of a vice. I have not broken the porcelain yet.

My dad (George Sitko) makes one which we use all the time. I think they're about 40 bucks, call him at 562-243-0482.

    Dmpe

We have the DMPE one and it is amazing simply, acurate and fast. A very cool tool...can't believe I did it on a vice. Takes 3 minutes max to gap a set of plugs now and they are all spot on for gap.

Here is the actual link to the actual picture of the tool,

    http://www.electrimotion.com/images/SPGapper.JPG

    it looks pretty basic

I know snap-on used to carry some that were a pair of pliers with a spinning wheel with different thickness gauges on it so you set the wheel to the correct position and put the plug in the tool and squeezed and volaah gapped plug. I see accel sells one of course it looks identical to the Jacobs AC delco and other brands I have seen on the web. The trouble is they all seem to start a .030 or .025 maybe you could just insert the gap gauge of choice in the tool and use it.

Anyway here is the link to the Accel unit,

I have used a number of the gappers available & the nicest one by far is the one from Snyder Motorsports.

Just a word of caution, squeez a little to hard on one of those plier type gap setters and you'll drive the center electrode up into the porcelain...which destroys the seal.

I have one of Darren's plug gappers. We were at the div event at Billings, Mt. this weekend and used it for the first time. My wife does the plug gapping and she loves it. I hope Darren makes some more cool tools like this one. Dave Germain
