I need a spring seat locator for the new dual valve springs but I need it to be about .250 thick. I know that no one probably makes what I am lookinf for but does anyone know of a place that will/would probably make me a set.

    Thanks,
    Billy

We had an engine job one time that needed the spring pockets relocated true to the valve guide to prevent sideways osculation that causes bent and fatigued springs.
First we cut the spring seat true. You would be surprised how often this is needed.
Then used a set of retainers that fit the spring correctly and cut the center out to fit the OD of the guide.
Presto spring pads that fit perfect, insulated the spring from exhaust heat and helped rotation.
Getting creative and making your own stuff is what hot rodding is all about. Plus it's fun and cheaper.
Now Competition Cams has a bunch of them in their catalog.
There are also + .50 up and -.50 down valve locks for setting installed height.
