There is going to be a small gap between the fork and the bearing. The spring is made just really stop that bearing from sliding back and forth during the run and to hold it off the clutch fingers. You do want to make sure when the pedal has been adjusted, the clutch zeroed out and the airgap set that there is a minimum of .380 gap between the bearing and the fingers. You can have more but not less. If you don't have that then as the car goes down the track and the rpm comes up and the fingers move they will hit the bearing so the clutch will not completely lockup. You will blow right through the clutch.

    Clutch TO Bearing

I just fabbed a couple of tabs and bolted them to the candle stick mounts, then I drilled the throwout bearing retainer. You can then put a couple of springs in to keep the bearing against the fork.

I will take a picture of the whole setup when I get home after work if your interested. Not much to see really, pretty simple deal.

    throw out spring

We run a spring on the arm outside the can. The length of the arm gives more leverage and can be increased easly. Dirty Rat
