How far away could I get by with using a system 1 oil filter and adapters with -10 hose and fittings? 50-60 weight oil I need to run trough 4.5 ft. each way. I have all of the stuff to do it.Clearances 3 rods and mains. Just don't want to hurt the new combo. Thanks Craig:confused:

    Filter

No real answer. But I sure wish that they made that filter as an 'inline' It would save a lot of bent fittings

Could you run -12 hoses, I have no real proof that -10s arnt enough but ive always plumbed my oil in -12 and had zero oil pressure problems.

I ran a remote in my blown Malibu about 4 foot out. Just need to fill things before you hit the ignition switch. Crank it a bit. Once the air is out you should be fine. 12AN line is what I used.

    Craig,

there's a interesting discussion on System 1 filters over at performanceboats.com I think it's in the dyno section.
The bottom line was that the System 1 filters are not really filters in the true sense of the word but just screening the oil. The smallest screen size is letting particles through that are way too big for the clearances in an engine.

I've run 4' one way (8' total) -10 hose (through 2 HP1 filters) on a small block ford, single 88mm turbo with a standard volume oil pump, I lost about 5 psi of oil pressure compaired to a single HP1 filter on the block, it didn't effect bearing, or turbo life.
