hey fellas. im at my wits end here. trying to run fuel heads on a standard cam location older KB hemi block. im having unreal pushrod geometry problems. is this combo even possible? i had my stands machined to move the intake rockers so that i have a good footprint on the valves. now my problem is the exhaust. the valve end has a great footprint. my problem is the pushrod end. its hitting the heads to a the point where i cant even get the pushrod to sit in the adjuster. ive ground as far as i can go, but im still too far off. is there a rocker out there that keeps the valve half standard length, but is longer on the adjuster side? not an angle problem, but really a length problem.................... wow as im rereading this im even confusing myself! i guess my question is am i overlooking something? is there maybe a lifter option that would solve this? or is there a whole other direction that i should be heading?............. thing is the main problem is budget related. goin different heads or block, or an entirely different valvetrain just isnt in the cards at all.

ok this maybe even dumber, but here it goes. is there a lifter out there that is made to make up the difference between a standard cam and a raised cam block? the reason im asking is that we have an older set of lifters that the pushrod cups are removeable. and we slid a few washers in em and mocked em up and it really improves the problem. pushrod length is definately not the answer. we have tried a hundred different lenghths. i really need to make up the distance at the contact points points. either on the lifter end of it or the rocker end of it. the length of the pushrod just doesnt improve the angle.

ya know what those are great questions that i really dont have an answer to right this second. the car is at my parents. and my dad is really the brains behind the operation. long story short with his health probs, and the meds they have him on his mind kinda isnt there anymore so im kinda trying to wing this. the car is about the only thing keepin him goin. ill find out tomorrow and get back to ya. dont get me wrong i maybe looking at this totally backwards. thats kind of why im asking questions. but since you are running basically the same combo there is hope! its just we changed heads, and now everything is just crazy. it all bolted up with the old set, which were older brad alky heads................

years ago I had similar problems. I bought lifters with offset pockets that helped the problem a ton. I don't remember where I got the lifters but comp cams sticks in my head for some reason. Dave Germain

since its an older block let me ask a simple question, is it a short deck? also do you know the history of the heads? Ive seen alot of stuff modified or worse you find out you have one of "those" heads. these things are all one of a kind at times.
