We have a mike bos car, fuel tank behind the seat alluminum.
there is no way to tell how full the tank is and we keep over filling it and wasting costly fuel.

Does anyone have a neat way to tell the fue level easily??

Get a coat hanger, bend it into a long flexable rod and stick it in the tank... You will see how much fuel is in the tank by how high up on the rod it is wet.

Dosnt work to well if you have a baffle tank, but then again, you can still see how far above the baffle you are.

Along the same line of thinking, make a homemade level indicator sort of like what you would see on a coffee perc. Fitting near the lower portion of the tank, and a fitting near the top portion of the tank, and a clear piece of fuel line clamped to each, vertical in between the two. Liquid finds its own level, and you can see where the level is along the clear tube......

Frank, you guys been out much this year? Hope all is well.

I use to run a Bos car with the same set up , the trick is when the alcohol hits the ground stop putting fuel in ,the tank is full at that point.

Agreed, fill slow and listen for the dribble/splash on the floor. Makes a mess of the garage floor though with C23......

I dont have a drain on the bottom but do have an extra fitting i think we wil try to set a clear line on it with a plug in the end and point it up, we cna check the fuel level and use it as a drian.

If you don't vent the end of the clear line (preferably back to the tank or you might get problems...) then it will not work as a level indicator - the trapped air will compress and stop the fuel finding a natural level, resulting in your sight glass reading lower than your tank.
