Was looking at some really nice Venolia nitro piston blanks awhile back, and was kind of impressed by the design. Stout, ready for a 1.156 pin, enough crown material to form the top profile that we want, and basically an economical shelf item before custom machining.

In an extreme boost 10K+ RPM alky application (4.375 bore), any thoughts good or bad, regarding: 1)the extra piston mass versus a more standard alky piston, and 2)hard anodizing the entire piston after final machining like the fuel guys do?

    Thanks.

    Coating

I machined the tops of my A-Fuel pistons for use in my blown motor. Because I couldn't sell them @ a honest price. Have 3 sets, I run Brad 5's. and a roots. JE say,s the reason the top is coated because it is cheaper and easier than just coating the skirts. If you can machine the dome like you want,at a good price. I would say go for it. Just remember the pin end it is wider on a fuel piston. You will need rods for that piston. I have 3.30 pins from Bill Miller. They weigh a hefty 329 grms. So the pins are heavy, my piston is 813 grms. Really heavy compared to a blower set up. of say 700+ grams of piston, and say 225+ pins. because you can run a narrower pin.. Hope that helps a little. piston #

    Aloha TOL
Do you by any chance have the Arias piston # for the 4.375 bore, I've been to thier web page but never saw that there was a shelf piston for a Hemi with a 4.375 bore.

Hi James, Eric Gates here. You may remember my Dad, John, from the old SCEDA days at LACR. I just bought those exact pistons from Arias. You can't beat their deal. PM me if you want to know more.

Hi Eric I remember your dad. Meeting him was like meeting a friend you haven't seen in awhile. I was testing at LACR (1st time there) pitted next to you guys and had a pump problem. Man you guys went out of your way to help that day, thanks again!
