Blower rebuild

i just had a brain fart;;can my big bore 6-71 be converted to a 10-71 for a reasonable price..since i'm going to have it check over and repolished then would it be that much more to make it into a 10-71...have a new BDS COMPETION BLOWER INTAKE.not surebut since my 6-71 fits it then i can only go up to a 10-71 without changing intakes?

 

Yup, you can make a 6 into a 10. It requires a new case & new rotors.

A 10 is a few inches longer than a 6.

Run a six. Lots can be done on a small motor with a 6. How big is your motor?

I have my 6 on a 372 sbc now. i'm no where near big boost numbers, and the car scares the shit out of me.

 

i'm building a 540bbc..the 6 i have is the big bore 6-71;;was told that it can match a 8-71 because it being a big bore..

 

i put one of my small blown bbc 468 1071 littlefield in my buddys 66 nova super pro car just for fun at the time 14x32 tire i couldnt leave on the trans brake it would just blow the tires off but i ran 4.90 in the 1/8 mile i dont remember the speed leaving on the foot brake it did twist the car up a bit for a miniute i thought it was going to flip over side ways it was a blast to drive

 

here is my engine and specs i have so far;

it is a 540bbc/11.8 comp pistons/heads will be done[pro valve job/c-n-c ported and flowed/i think he said around 445 cc flow but don't remember if that is before or after he works on them]they are brodix 2-plus heads/roller cam with 736 lift 114 LC ;6-71 big bore blower/alky injection bird catcher w/modified square doors]enderle 110 pump -mallory super maglll ign.//trans is PG with 10 disc high gear-stright cut 1;80 planitary-trans brake/4;10 or 4;30[have 4;88 now but i feel i'm to low gear] rear gears/spool/32.14.5 slicks/

depending on how much air it makes it should be pretty fast i would think but i would also think you need a taller gear with the short tire maybe 4.10 are 4.30 even a 3.90 depending on how it leaves good luck with it
