I've got a running discussion going with a buddy of mine about the cost of a new Brad deal with the new 8 heads, c rotor psi top to bottom. I've run a list and come in at $50-55k. He called BAE and they're telling him $75k, am i missing something? Anyone?

They probably add labour and the fact that its being put together by them into the costs . lol I have noticed that with alot of manfacturers especially blowers and fuel pumps where its cheaper to buy in bits and put it together yourself because you aren't paying for the labour .

Someone asked the same question a couple of years ago on the old Nitromater so I did a complete list with a running total naming off all the parts with the prices I know I have been paying. The post is long gone, but the total was over $75,000 which included some outside labor for certain modifications but nothing toward assembly. It was manifold to pan with fuel system and ignition with crank trigger, RCD billit crank support gear drive and accessories, PSI injector, supercharger and drive, Plueger dry sump pump, etc, etc. no used stuff.

I'm surprised it wasn't more than that today. Maybe they are on sale?

A lot of variables, but $75k is a good "ball park".

Danny a brad 8 intake to pan assembled from brad with angle mag drive is around $44,000 A new C blower with drive quill shaft and drive plate is around $12,000 That is $56,000 with only 2 items, not to mention injector, pump, nozzels, lines, blankets, etc. etc. If you start out with $75,000 by the time you fire it up from scratch you might have enough money left to pay for your fuel to get to the track, just my 2 cents.

PS not to mention promag 44 and points box

I talked to my buddy again and I didn't think about all the stuff fot the psi, ie snout, bag, hat, barrel valve, etc. Also didn't include mags cause we were talking big inch nitrous motor compared to blower motor. Looks like that is pretty darn close, tip to toe. i just guessed on some of the stuff.

    about right

With the way materials have went up in the past few years, I believe it. In 2000 I had Conway do me a quote for a motor ready to fire up, brand new, was $52,500. That was with a cast block. It was also 10 years ago.

A racer could probably put together a running motor with quality used, I mean pre-owned, parts off some website I heard about for about that much now....
