    Eli

    Eli,

I know what you mean! Here in Lakeland, Florida it has been in the 40's at night and 60's in the daytime for the last week or so. I'm thinking that 35 years ago, I should have moved farther south.:D

Both are great places, especially if you like salt water fishing! North Port is very crowded though. Small lots, no elbow room. Tarpon springs is also a great place. A little less crowded and East of there is a good fresh water lake.

I can't tell you about taxes other than anything you buy on the West coast of Florida is going to be high, because it is so much in demand. I live in central Florida where the taxes are a lot more reasonable and it's not so crowded. I actually live on the edge of Lakeland and still get to see "critters" once in a while, wandering around!!;)

Don't forget to research what part of Florida gets hit the most with hurricanes. You've picked a "hot spot" on one of your choices. I'll let you figure out which one!:D

Good luck and "welcome to Florida", once you get here!

My wifes uncle has a house in Holiday thats been there since 1966 never been hit all original windows, Never been flooded, so I'm going to say thats the spot, Tarpon Springs is about 2 miles from his house, I can buy his house cheap but I don't like the neighborhood,:)

    Good Choice Eli!

If you're looking at moving to the more Northern spots from Tampa is probably a good decision, or should I say a "better" decision!:)

It is a whole lot less crowded and I would think that the taxes would also reflect the same!

Always remember though, ............. you go where you want to go and "to hell with everyone elses opinions" :D
