    hi,
did a bit of a search
any one using a msd 10 or msd 8 with a msd 8973 box.
i want to retard timing only once the trans brake has been released, and re ramp all timing back within 3 seconds.
    also high gear retard.

    engine combo:
    altered, 125 inch
    sbc twin turbo
    converter , glide
    mech fuel injection
    msd 10

    thanks
    ash

I use the 8977 controller with my MSD-10 Plus. It does what you are looking for except it ramps at 2.5 seconds max to get the timing back in. The 2008 catalog says not for use with the 10+ or 7AL-3. Don't know why that is in the catalog because I use it just in the way you are looking for and it works great. I also use the rev controls from the 8977 and not the one in the 10+ box as it is redundant.

We have had a devil of a time getting my car off the line, Its either major shake or blowing the tires off, I cant seem to find middle ground. Not enough power shake, too much smoke. Im considering going the same route as what your thinking of. Im running a Small Block Olds 397 inches twin turbo on a dragster. check out pages 1 and 4 for pics of my car. http://gallery.competitionplus.com/main.php?g2_itemId=517214&g2_page=1

We will be changing cars this winter to a 270" BOS chassis. So hopefully this will help too.

Ash, I cant pull timing out and add back in a function of time based. What I need to do is hit the tires will alot of power at first then pull the timing back .2 -.3 tenths into the run ( I think LOL ) Im running the old FAST box. You ride is sweet, what is the set up ?
