Ihra: How Can You Race Wiithout Alcohol F/c?

Who Didn't See This Coming? That's Why We Have Our Screw Sitting In The Shop And Our Car Is Out Being Updated By Sheridan Industries For The Nhra. With Leadership Skills Like Aaron And Scooters, It Was A No-brainer For Us. We Invested A Lot Of Time And Money To Step Our Program Up This Year, But When Your Treated Like A Red-headed Step Child, Its Not Long Before You Know Your Out The Door. Looking Forward To Running Nhra This Year!!!

Your from Ohio Chris why don't you ask Mark Thomas why everything is for sale?? I know Mark is a class guy and he says on the record he wants to spend more time with his family but I'd bet the farm it is because he is sick of the crap Aaron and Skooter have given the racers since they took over. Terry Munroe had enough to say he was leaving to follow a bunch that had already left. I don't know if you are related to Aaron or not but be realistic he doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. If you are a racer and have ever tried to get a sponsor you should sure as hell know January ain't the time. Maybe after they have no cars at an event they might just realize that they are not God Almighty and they are only as good as the racers and the fans that support them and you can count this fan out. If you can get the IHRA site to work look back at the car counts since the pair idiots forced Bader to leave because he couldn't stand their BS. It has dropped every year and ADRL have risen along with NHRA Pro Mod. What do you think they are going to do when they get 4-5 Pro Stocks or less in Edmonton??

Hell if you know what type of underwear Aaron wears Chris I would only assume that you would know the all time leader in IHRA Alcohol Funny Car victories and 7 time World Champion. You know so much about IHRA and you can't figure out that Bill Bader got screwed by the twins. Figure it out stupid he had 25% and 2 seats on the board of directors. Aaron your ****ing hero was in control of 75%. You don't have to be a rocket scientest to figure that out. What ****ing good has Aaron Polburn done as president of IHRA. Name me something so I don't think your a complete and total idiot!!!!

You're right "alkyman", I don't know the particulars of the Bader/Polburn relationship or business dealings, though I do remember something about Clear Channel/Feld being players.

I'll give you one good thing that Aaron has done: There was still IHRA racing last year. It seems that the races were well advertised and well attended by fans.

You may want to PM me next time to call me a total idiot. It sounds like that Mark Thompson is a pretty good racer.

Its sad when poor business practices come back to bite the patrons of the business in the ass. Whats even worse is that someone can sign their name to something and it doesn't mean squat to them. While Evan Knoll didn't cause this single handedly, it is a pretty major factor when one of your TITLE sponsors goes down in flames like that.

As for Allen's comment about "cookie cutter alcohol cars are boring", I can only respond with my experience. Besides having a vested interest in the car going A to B, there are few better experiences for a gearhead than to be on the starting line watching a TAFC leave with a puff of clutch dust, be 60 feet away from you in less than a second and accelerate to 250 mph in less time than most cars can go 0-60. Not only that, but doing it on a wheelbase of a soapbox derby car! heh. :) Bottom line, there is nothing boring about a car that can launch itself 1320 feet in less than 6 seconds.

    cookie cutter

nothing against pro mod, i enjoy those cars as well, but the days of pro mod having a lot more variety than tafc are gone by. a whole lot of 63 vettes, 68-69 camaro/firebirds, studes and the like. more variety, yes, but not a ton.

if the alky and pro mod guys could ever get together, they could make for one hell of a show.

Thats where i think a MRA should form (Methanol Racers Association). Anybody in :D i think it would be nice just to have like alcohol dragsters, alky funny cars, pro mods should all get together and form an association. I was talking about that the other day when reading the recent news of most likely no funny car class in IHRA

That all sounds great on paper Stefan as you and I feel like poor red-headed step children right now. (Wait a minute, I have a red-headed son!) Anyway, its been tried before. UDRA was great in its day when the right people ran it. WAR (World Alcohol Racers) had a great idea, lacked the $$ to hang in there and make it happen. We all just want to race and be treated like profesionals (or just human beings). Good Luck, I will be one of the first to join!;)

I remember your sons running between our pits(Konrodz) and yours at martin this year with mohawks. On topic: It is probably quite possible as ADRL formed in 2007 and look at the success. Although 1/8 mile isn't as fun as the full 1/4 think about it, 60 thousand people at an event. Thats the total of all IHRA crowds in 1-2 years. I would be interested in forming an association, just need the funding. So if anybody is good at that type of stuff hit me up :D ... i guess i have a slight disadvantage since im 14 and most people here are 25+. It would be sweet to be 14 and having your own racing association.

:cool:That's my boy, a chip off the old block. Come on guys give the kid credit, his idea sounds pretty good. I wonder if maybe one day he can run his own league. How about getting the guys from Pinks to step in and maybe they could found it for the Alcohol Funny Car class?????

Well I have made up my mind, that if I don't get a positive answer by the 20th of December, my team will be heading to the NHRA. It will take a lot more money but at least I will know that we are going racing next year. The calls have been made and the updates have started, let the games begin.

The leadership was a problem with UDRA
But the major reason as I see it, was the influx of the quick 8/16 races. Why pay to bring in blown alky diggers and door slammers from UDRA, when you have racers willing to pay you to run quick 8/16 races.
