I do not know how too identify the spindles on the front of my altered. I know bearing sizes (cups and cones) and the inner seal size. I have looked for some marks or numbers on them, can't find anything. The wheels have nothing on them either.
Don't know if they are GM, Ford, Anglia or what they are. Would there be anywhere I could go that maybe by the bearing sizes would tell me what the spindles are?

It looks like everyone else on here is like me. I don't have a clue what spindle I have and I don't know how to find information on how to identify it.

Like I said in my post, I know the bearing sizes and the seal sizes but have searched and searched for a site that would say: "Anglia spindles are .......", "Ford spindles are ........ ", etc.

How about this, ........ does anyone know if I can buy a spindle and brake set from someone that would bolt on to my front axle?

All of these questions stem from the fact that I want to purchase new wheels and tires for the front of my altered before I run it. I can't do that if I don't know what spindles that the wheels are supposed to fit.:(

mbaker; the pic is too dark to see.
Anglia type referes to spindles made by:
    Strange (not strut type)
    M-W
    Stiletto
    P&S
    SPE
and some who fell by the wayside and more just getting on the bandwagon.
Quick check: Anglia bearings are 03062 OUTER/ 07098 INNER.
It does show in the picture what appears to be a garden hose hooked to the caliper! From my (old) eye, guessing that's a 1-1/2" axle, that hose looks enormus. If it's any bigger than a -3 hose, it won't stop anyway! Maybe you don't need new brakes.

These are the cup and cone numbers that were installed:
    Inner - 07098 cone 07204 cup
    outer - 03062 cone 03162 cup
    Seal is a CR 12565
It is a AN4 braided hose.
This is some good info, thanks Bob!:)

Dave; definately Anglia type. And I was right, a -4 is a garden hose and has absolutely NO place on a racecar, streetcar, shopping cart, ect!
