Salute to Scott Kallitta

This is from 'Bear', one of "The Boys".....Bunny's burnout in the first round of elimination caught us all by surprise, only Marc White with the Cindrich & Sheetz Team in the other lane knew of Bunny's intention to Salute Scott Kallitta with a burnout out as far as the "Hemi Honey" would go, much to the dismay of the starter, Rick Stewart & NHRA. Bunny is probably (?) one of the only Funny Car Drivers that has "Died" in a top end crash in 1995, (She died 3 times before arriving to the hospital...thank God for Life Flight!) only to return to the strip as soon as she was able! Bunny says....."Don't cry for Scott...Salute Scott! He died doing what he loved doing......"It's What We Do!"" GOD SPEED SCOTT......R.I.P. Good Luck in your quest for another championship in Heaven

To my Friend Bunny,

The tribute that you've done for Scott is amazing, and everyone who knows you and has read this, Thanks You!!

But on a more personal note: The amazing fact that you have been through 3 years, yes, 3 years of MAJOR Operations, and you are out there Competing is, to me, pretty Awesome.

Bunny, for those of you who don't know, tripped in her own kitchen over a phone cord only a few months ago. When she was taken to the hospital, they discovered that she'd broken her leg AND her hip (I believe Right??) needed to be replaced.

Bunny, YOU are a TRUE INSPIRATION. The fact that YOU contribute so much to the well being of others, no words can be spoken.

Thanks for your kind words but its fans, racers, and friends like you that give me the drive to keep on going and not give up. It takes all of us to make this a wonderful sport and "This is what we do"!

 

All of these kind words are so fitting for this champion racer. The Kalitta team put this out and it really put everything into perspective for me.

How could any of us expect to achieve anything greater than what they just said about Scott. He was a champion, he was a hero, he was a friend. He was a son, a father, a husband, a cousin, a friend and a racer! .... WOW!
No greater words can be spoken about any man! Hopefully, when it's time for me to leave this place, I have achieved this same respect and love from my family and friends.
