I switched from Brooks to GRP, just so there was no doubt.

"Horsepower Results - 1/4 Mile Method

Your nova weighs about 2900 pounds and can complete a 1/4 mile in about 7.6 seconds. That means that you've got about 1305.70 HP at the wheels, and about 1697.42 HP at the flywheel."

That is about what I figured with the current tune... I think if I get it leaned out and a little better tune on it, it would go in the 7.50's or maybe a bit faster.

I am hoping for the .40's with the new block.

Do you think those Brooks Rods will be good for what I am running. I only put about 30 or 40 passes on a set of rods. Half of them are 1/8th mile

How do you like the 426 Rods... I have 6 of those new in a box, plus 8 new brooks 65 rods...

If the 426 are better, I could buy two more and use them... I dont mind changing them after 20 passes, but I spent a lot of money getting things back together from the old motor going, so buying another new set of rods would suck.

what would suck is a rod out the side of the block...:eek:plus changing rods like that isn't so easy...you just don't go grab a different set and put in a motor...it becomes a ballance issue...grams..Dave

we have been running 100 runs on the 426 hemi rod with the big pins, BILL himself said were not even getting close to hurting them under 9000 rpms.
    We run 4.00's 1/8 mile at 175 with a 2000 lb car.
