Changing from a HH8-71 Littlefield to a HH8-71 PSI.572 BBC,Dart 360 heads, Venney Injector,12-1 comp,SuperMag 3.This is a puller engine, try to run a gear that will keep RPM about 7500.With the Littlefield at 60% OD it makes 25 lb with a fresh blower. At the same OD how much more will the PSI need? With the better blower[PSI], should I slow it down a little bit? Thanks

From someone who runs a PSI 8-71, there shouldn't be any reason in the world you'd need to turn it that hard. If you must....throw 30 in the main and go from there; easier to take fuel away little by little than to remove pistons piece by piece.

Spinning At 60 Over And Only 25 Lbs. Of Boost Really Does'nt Sound Right..i Ralize That Cam And Heads And Other Things All Figure In , But That Sounds Awful Low. Somewhere In Your Pull You Have To Be At Your Max Rpm You Want.if You Told Me You Spin It 60 Over And Had 50 Lbs Of Boost I Would Tell You Thats Low But I'm Just A Fast Drag Racer Not Puller...my Two Cents

    It's not a 14, its an 8.
From experience I can say he is right on with his numbers.

I would like to know where I can get an 8 that puts out 50+ psi, please PM me.

    boost

thats right about where our fresh ssi 8-71 and late stye littlefields will run at45% maybe30 @8200 different engine though. my experience would say also just put30 in main. on that chev you probably got front ports nozzles pretty big @60% or...If you got pulleys go 50% should be close , might be you can get port nozzles evened out better(little less in front) If you can make that boost at less overdrive everything is happier hope this helps just an old tractor puller myself

    boost vs fuel split

Boost reading is also a function of the fuel split that determines the amount of cooling in the manifold. More fuel in the hat, more cooling, less boost reading. Everyone may be right.
