Can anyone tell me my options for getting a Mallory 3 or 4 mag checked and possibley re-charged? I looked at Don Zig's web site, and it appears that he is not taking on any repair work right now. I also phoned Cirello, no one answered there; maybe I was too early or they're at the races.

Of course, I'm just probably being impatient; I just have a couple of mags that I would like to get done in the next week or so.

We used to send our SM's to Mallory, then we switched to Don Zig, I've talked with Cirello and a guy they call Moose (by Des Moines IA) but have never had them work on anything.
I don't know Moose phone # right now.

Whats Zig doing if he's not repairing?

Wait a few hours... Wizbang has had a bunch of mags done by Cirello. I'm sure he has the pricing memorized.

He works 2nd shift and I don't think he starts until 2PM Pacific time.

    mag infor

hi is there anyway to do self tests on mag to see if they need to be serviced with out putting them on the engine before you start it. do you have to make a stand and spin them up to test them with a volt meter?

    Rob,
I have a magneto tester. You can test dual or just 1 made by nology. 1 end plugs into your multimeter and the others into your mags. At the track if you suspect that you have a bad mag. Pull the plugs and spin the engine and you can check both - and + in 1000 vdc. You would have to call spud miller on the spec's or contact nology. I lost the paper work a few years ago. This unit was about 350. Id sell it for 100 if anyone is intrested. Just PM me.
