Did anyone see the auction last night on Speed channel? Had Warren Johnson's early 87 Olds Pro Stock Firenza and Mike Ashleys Indy winner Funny car. WJ's olds went for a mear $90k and Mikes went for just $130k. Disgraceful IMO. Joe Amato bought WJ'S car for his collection. (can't blame him for that)
No one seemed to care about drag cars. The Old Beverly Hillbilly's car went for $125k. (rust bucket that it is) Just my 2 cents.

In my opinion some of the big money guys were obviously absent from the tent. For example, the big bald headed guy (usually has a 20 yr old brunette on his lap) who got into it with Craig Jackson over his $3.9M bid on the GM Future Liner last year, his skinny pal who shells out a lot of money who usually sits next to him and the twerp who jumped in the concept Olds a couple years ago while the bidding was going on and bought it for a client for $3M. Funny part about that was, the guy who bid against him on that deal said once he saw the guy jump in the car he was going to make him pay for it, which he did. He said he had no intention of paying that kind of money for it and figured the twerp would.

From what I read on Barret/Jackson's web site Mike Ashley said it was a rolling chassis and a "show " engine. Still!!!
Go to B/J's site and see what everything sold for. barrett-jackson.com

anybody got any thoughts Tony Stewart's 30'+ burnout (nascar brakestand style) with people lined up on both sides of the car. Wonder if anybody (Home Depot perhaps) had the guts to tell him it was a stupid thing to do?

I agree, and as tragic as that was for all involved, maybe it didn't spin around in the news for the Nascar world like it did ours.
