Painting around the edges of windows in a Funnycar Body

My Body painter reckons to paint the recess in the body where the windows sit "Black"
I through you would actually paint the Back of the window with a border around it "Black".
What do most guys do and if the windows are painted how wide do you make the border, and what type of paint would you use.

 

My pro mod had electrical tape on the body and paint on the inside of lexan. Bickel makes a border paint.

My car has tape but have had bad luck with all paints holding up. was thinking about using spray plastic dip.
