Spark plug electrode burning off

    What causes the electrode to burn down closer to the porcelain causing bigger plug gap? Only happened on one plug but we had a misfire the whole run...and back firing. plugs had 3 runs. plug wires have 27 runs.

    Burnt ground strap

    To me, it sounds like a lean cylinder. Any data to show temps?

    egts are around 1000. not sure on cyl temp

    Pretty unusual to take out the center electrode vice the ground strap. The ground strap gets exposed to high temps and detonation a lot more than a center electrode. My guess is a bad plug from the factory.
