What 1.000" Lifters?

    I am looking for 1.000" Lifters for a Blown Alcohol Dragster engine.

    Who has good / bad experience with Jessel, Morel & Co? What to buy?

    1" Lifters

    I have only used Crane 1" and have had good luck with them. Only one failure of the roller wheel and that was when a rod broke, piston hit the valve and broke a pushrod cup, apparently damaging the wheel at the same time. Other than that, no problems with Crane.

    I assume you still run MBR motor from Miner ?? I've had a lot of great service with the morel lifters in .903 dia. I'm sure their 1.00 in stuff is just as good. The jesel stuff is probably the best...... But damn..... You will pay for them. What did Bob recommend?

    Timo, just checking to make sure that you know that if you use a .903 lifter cam grind with a 1.00 lifter that the cam specifications will change because of the different diameter lifter wheel.

    lifters

    We have been using MOREL TF lifters on our A/Fuel TAD: zero problem.
    and they are rebuildable vie Motorsports Unlimited.
    As Mike noted, a .904 lifter typically has a .815 wheel, whereas a 1" lifter will have a .920 wheel, so ensure the cam is ground for the correct wheel.
    Also, I have a full set of CAM FX 1" lifters, new, that may be available.

    Yes we still run Bob Miner Engines and Yes I know the difference btw. the Roller diameter.

    please explain how the diameter will effect cam please .

    Larger wheel

    The larger wheel starts to rise on the lobe sooner because it is further to the "side" of the cam lobe. (hope that made some sort of sense). Lift is the same, but the bigger bigger wheel starts climbing the lobe sooner and comes down later.

    I am sure there is someone smarter and more literate to put that into words.

    That's a good explanation. Just one thing to add is that the lift will increase by the difference in diameter between the two wheels.

    That part I don't understand......I would think that the lift would be the same. The bottom and top of lob lift look at the center of the lifter wheel, with the same lash, how would lift be more with different diameter wheels?

    I could be missing something, not sure.

    Rethought that and I believe you are correct. The lift would be the same.

    The lobe lift stays the same. The lifter basically just sits higher in the lifter bore. Regards, Chase

    1" Lifters

    Which may also change the pushrod length if there is not enough adjustment. Even .020 makes a difference in my pushrods.
