    Heads up for racers:

So after I shipped my flex plate in, I found out today that it is too old to re cert, not because of overall age but because it has been more than 3 years since it ran out of cert they will not re cert it......??????

It has been sitting here in my garage since it it ran out of cert so it apparently went bad while sitting......so just a heads up. After a few phone calls I am finding out this is not something that other manufacturers do, just the one it seems.

Be careful who you buy from,

    5 points to blownalky....

    Hi Robert,

I actually had to call them as they didn't even bother to call me and tell me. He just said it has been more than 3 years since the SFI expired, claimed SFI wouldn't allow them to re cert, but no other company seems to have this problem and the part was in excellent shape except for where the flywheel bolts dig in a little which happens to everyone since no one manufactures them with steel inserts in them for some reason and with the required convertor hub bushing adapter there are no bolts long enough to use a washer and still get full thread engagement (I checked). He did offer to give me $50 trade in value towards a new flex plate.....I would say that is a great way to sell products, it has certainly taught me a lesson about having no money for 6 years. I can tell you I will not be buying anything from them. I will either run it as is or if the tech guys throw a fit I will buy a different flywheel.

    good times

The product is junk just like the service. The ring gear will come loose and or loose teeth.

Crap company for sure , tell them to send it back to you and use it if you feel comfortable with it . Doubt it will ever get checked by a tech guy , most are to lazy to get that involved especially if not at a NHRA nat'l event .

    Reactor

I have seen the ring gears come apart but since I do not use an on board starter and bought 2 of these very cheap from a friend I was just going to use them for now but since they won't recert I will be going with somebody else, has anyone had any recent dealings with the DMPE ringless flex plates? I know the early ones had problems, has that been fixed?

    Thanks,
    Trevor Sherwood

    tech

I was only concerned with getting it teched for my NHRA licensing runs but if Rich Schafer doesn't call me back that won't happen anyway.
