bruno pressure settings

    hi all, I sent an email to bruno but still no answer :(
    does anyone know what you can turn the oil pressure down on my bruno to soften the hit off the mark (getting big tyre shake) at the mo its set to 350 @ 3500rpm
    its a ladder bar car and ladder bars a short to its made to hit hard but not getting off the mark now
    I use to run a turbo 400 trans and use to leave mint

    At 3500 rpm the minimum pressure is 100 psi and the max is 250. The standard is 150 psi. Not sure I would go all the way down to 100 psi right away. What fluid are you using?

    sorry Mike was Typeo was meant to be 150@3500
    oil is just type F trans fluid mineral oil (but boy it gets hot) looking going to redline racing ATF
    I also run a 1 ltr trans cooler for inside the car for extra fluid but looking to go to bigger litreage in side
    any help or advice would be fantastic

    Most of us have found the Red Line Lightweight ATF to be the best. Some people run 30 races on it. You should use the extended oil pan on the Bruno. We also have an ice chest with two transmission coolers in it and an electric pump that connect up after a run to cool it down.

    Mike,
    Will that cooler set up cool the fluid in the converter too, or just in the Bruno itself?

    Yes it pumps it through the converter which is where all the heat is. You Tee into the pipe that comes out of the Bruno to the pressure gauge and also out of the Bruno pan. You use Jiffy-tite Quick Connect Fittings all in -6. Mick Synder at http://www.snydermotorsports.com can sell you the whole kit. We had him put a 240 volt motor in one unit that we use in Sweden.     We use an Off Board cooler too , over here in the UK.
    It makes a huge difference.

    We also gave an onboard cooler and fan , we run quarter mile.

    A couple of additions over the winter are the bigger pan , and a slightly bigger breather / overflow.

    Just as a note here. The bottom of the breather should be higher than the top of the Bruno unit so if fluid goes into the breather during the run then it can drain back into the Bruno after the run.
