I'm about to freshen our blowers for next season there both older Littlfield 14-71 HH I have 2 different cases with different openings and 2 different styles of rotors one with 4 whites per lobe and the other with 2, I was thinking that the smaller opening will suit us with 40% OD but I'm not sure what difference the rotors will make?

I'm also thinking about putting a divider in the hat its an old PSI low profile 4 blade hat does anyone have any thoughts good or bad about doing that?

The 4 whites per lobe rotors were an experiment with the fuel cars, they didn't work. Don't replace the ones at the bottom of the lobe, they just rob power.

    Hi,

If it were me the first thing I would do is call LF and ask them which rotors are in them, if one has the Kobelco rotors in it use that one if not go with the one that has the delta (Pie) opening, then if needed you can have someone make you a stuffer plate to get it to a 10.5" inlet opening. The other thing you can do is since your hat uses and adapter would be to have someone machine you a new adapter with the stuffer plate built in...while they are doing that they could put the inlet mod into the plate and do a little contouring work with only a little extra work. I had that same setup and I will tell you that you will pick up some power with a decent roots hat over the psi screw hat. You have to ask yourself though what they are charging for the adapter plate or stuffer plate and would you be money ahead selling your setup and getting a Kobelco K8 or an SSI D rotor w/ a roots hat for similar money that will make more power.

The divider was something that came around and one big hat manufacturer swore by it and another said it was a bad idea....It seems like they are making a comeback.

    Hope that helps some,
    Trevor Sherwood
