Anyone know what that was all about? Right over the cage. First it was a vapor or white smoke. After that it lit up it kept relighting whenever they put it out with a fire extinguisher.

I wondered if it wasn't an electrical short burning the paint or wrap as I'm sure there was a hole in the roof after it hit the pavement possibly getting into some wiring. I don't recall seeing anyone kill the power on the back of the car.

The conspiracy theorists will call it a propylene oxide leak.

Yea Randy, I saw that also. Right in the area of the normal radio antenna location. It like is was smoking pretty good as he was finally slowly down. The rescue had to shot it several times with the fire extinguisher.

I think it was a piece of rubber from his tires or from the track that ignited from the roof scraping. In looks like what you see when the scrape the track using the propane torches.

I saw this post at another site from a member of the Safety Safari.

The small fire on top of V's car was the power wire burning the roof, from we're it struck and slid across the track. I hit it with the CO2 as soon as I got on it then turned my attention to V. I looked up and it lit off again at that point I thought it might be some rubber then realized it was a power wire. I secured the power then hit the small fire again and it went right out. We checked V over good before getting him out of the car and he was fine and even tried to do a little dance to prove to us he was ok. LoL. I'm not privy to any of the track prep stuff so I can't add or comment on any of that stuff.
