Does anybody use the brass compression fittings for this?

Most of the time I think they are stainless, but I need a pile of them and of course the brass ones are far cheaper.

    Brass Compression Ferrules

I use the brass ferrules a lot. The steel ones are probably better but the brass ones work fine, too. I found that some of the original steel ferrules were only a half ferrule so in that case I had to grind down the one side to make it a half ferrule. It took about 5 minutes to do all 8. The last time I used the brass ones, the whole ferrule fit fine with no grinding. I bought 8 ferrules on ebay for $4 I think. Mine were 3/16 ID.
