who makes a stud to mount a lenco to the can? i tried some arp studs that were 2" overall and they were just shy of reaching thru the flange on the lenco. they were basically 1/2" in can... 2-1/2" usable length

    suggestions?

is there a place online to find various single studs?... and no i don't mean match.com lol

I was going to get the threads increased in size when I send my can back for recert. I'm sure Trick Ti can do that job for you.

is there anything wrong with drilling out the thread bungs and tapping them to 7/16"? any rocket science to cutting threads in titanium?

Let me know specifically what thread size, pitch, and length you need for both ends of the stud plus a OAL and I will see what I have, I'm near certain I have them but I'll wait to hear from you.

    Studs

I'm using BAE rocker studs for mine. Cheap, easy to get, available individually, 3/8 x 3/8

brandon... lemme get by the shop in a bit and i'll measure it up

i mis-typed in my original post... the arp studs i have are 2inch overall length (1/2"longx3/8"-16 into can with 1-1/2"longx3/8"-24 usable stud exposed). with this stud the tip is even with the flange of my lenco... so i think a 3to3-1/2" stud would work. basically needs a little over 3" of usable thread sticking out of the can

hope my explanation is somewhat helpful?

    lenco studs

arp aj2.500-1b is the part number for 3/8 stud to suit. Course in can end and fine thread on lenco end with broach to make starting nut easier. Cant believe this is such an exercise as that many cars running around with lencos but I went through it too

being a three speed and quite a beast weight-wise I'm sorta leaning toward drilling out to 7/16ths... it would suck for this thing to wind up in my lap!

    can tricks

noiraude, if yours doesn't have a 4 hole to hold the bearing collar, it makes me wonder if it was made for a trans that has one already mounted to it? that leads to the question if the can will spec for a class your running. it might not be the right spec can for your application. I would check before drilling as trick is super anal about mods done by can owners. 2 cents.

when i bought the can,the middle hole was much bigger than the usual one that centers the can around the small lip on the lenco.so i bought a piece of titanium and had the "big hole" welded shut and a smaller one drilled for the throwout bearing collar to be bolted to it.all i need now is to know how to bolt the collar to the can(studs and nuts?flush mounted bolts and nuts?threaded holes?)
i ve been told by Lenco i could bolt the throwout bearing collar to the lenco and leave the can with the big hole.
also been told by racers that for ease of maintenance/assembly/disassembly,i should have the collar bolted to the can, hence the mod i did.
the recert of the can is no problem to worry about.

    can me

if certs not a problem, then that's a good thing for you. the collar bolts through the back side of the can with tapered Phillips screws. no big deal. another thing, with the aluminum lenco collars, the input shaft beats the thing until it
wears out on the shoulder and breaks in 2. we put o rings on the tip of the input that acts as a shock absorber and keeps the input from killing the collar. send me a email at nitrobandit1@yahoo.com and ill send u some can pictures. as far a maintenance, definitely leave the bearing and collar in the can. way easier dan
