I run a blown alcohol mud racer and am thinking on changing to e-85 on my birdcatcher. has anyone ever had experiance with running the e-85? it is readilly available in my area so it would be very convinient for me to do so. Not quite sure how it would affect the power though. I am also running my engine at 20% over with a fresh 8-71 with 11.25 compression.

Afew years ago I looked into running ethanol. I recall you need to increase volume 19% to makeup the difference in btu output of methanol. Somebody like Spud at FEI should be able to help out correct nozzle size.

It has consistency problems. Anybody that I've seen push it buys e98 and blends their own. At 2.85 per gallon yesterday I don't see how it makes sense.
