I wonder if someone could help out with a couple of real world numbers for typical rates of engine acceleration? (ie: max rate of change in RPM per second while under load and when the clutch/tires/converter are reasonably loaded).

I'd be curious to know typical numbers for 1) blown alcohol funny or pro mod, and also 2) blown nitro funny or dragster.

    Thanks for your help.

FC is 1508 rpm per second from launch to the shift point in first gear.

PM is 2000 rpm per second from launch to the shift point in first gear

Mike , to clarify this for me, what point on the RPM graph are you picking up these numbers from ?

Why is that? Took it from launch to top of first gear on both types of cars.

Thanks Mike. What are things like in 2nd and 3rd gear for those two cars while under load and against the aero?

P/M on the chip 4000 rpm, shift at 9500 1.35 sec, 7800 at 1.65 shift 9800 2.7 sec, 7800 at 3.05 sec finish line 9327 5.99 sec, 238 mph. None of these are linear, third gear is close.

If it helps, we dyno at 600/sec
