How much Amperage or CCA needed for second battery of 24 volt starter curcuit?

At the advice of everyone, I am moving from MSD 10 Plus to 44 Pro Mag for my TFX/Veney/C-Rotor Screw. I think this will be a good thing, but want to get the second battery right the first time for 24 volt starting. The Starter is a really nice CSR unit that is set up for 24 volts and my main battery is an Odyssey 2150 deep cycle. The car needs ballast to run it its class, so main battery size and weight aren't an issue, the second battery needs to be small as I am getting low on room. What is a good amperage or CCA for the second battery that will only be used in the starting circuit?

the battery's need to be the same if you use 2 different battery's the small one will drain the other and kill them both ask your battery pro he will tell you the same thing, even if they are the same battery if one gets week it will kill them both

 

Thanks for the reply, Will be using 24 volts for cranking and I thought that only same battery voltage was required. I would never run anything 24 volt for longer periods with dissimilar amperage batteries, did not know identical amps were required too.

 

Hell I used to run a six volt optima and a twelve volt oddessy in series to make 18 volts charged them both at the same time with an 18 volt setting on my shop batt charger .... Never had a problem , 18 volts just spun the Chevy I was running a little faster than 16 volts

 

In series almost anything will work, parallel not so much.
