Well depends what your starting with? Stock kobelco then do some mods. Yup picked up 230 hp then moved on to an m5. Picked up 130 more ! Did it on a very well known dyno . Then played the spacer shoe inlet game $3300 for .3 lb of boost gain! Wtf! Not what I was told. And dont give me that efficeny speach either , not buying it ! All of this was done at 20 over with no cam or compression changes. Just blower changes . Hope this helps

blower mods work when your restricted on overdrive. if there is no restrictions, buy some pulleys and spin it on up.... limited to 30, 20 or lower then you have to get it modified

Blown375, tell us more. What blower do you now? What OD are you using? Do you have a spacer between your hat and the blower?

Tell us more. Compression , cam, bore. I've seen some of his psi blowers run really fast at 29 over. What boost at 8000. Fuel flow at 8000

    Kobelco K-8 Modified/M-4

Bob, this is Jim in TN, my Kobelco K-8 Superman was modified by Chuck Ford and made the same as Rocky's M-4. We both made 44#s to 46#s of boost at 7600rpm (526 hemi, Top Fuel style head), but he made his at 38% overdrive and mine was at 42% overdrive. The shoe was taken out of the M-4 and it made a little more on top end, but we both made 26#s to 28#s of boost at the hit at 3000rpm. Both superchargers were good for mid 3.80s on his car and mine never did get a chance on my dragster with trans/conv problems and sickness the past 2 years, but getting another chance this year now! The right person can really help on a stock blower, 6#s to 8 #s is what I think-Stay in touch! Jim 931-580-8804 or csmjimbkyle@bellsouth.net

Something to think about. The PSI Roots is designed to make great boost at a high OD. I am not impressed with them at low ODs. Rather than spending money on expensive modifications maybe all you need to do it up the OD. The PSI will really come alive at a 50% OD

    Mods on the Dyno

The end of last week and this past weekend I had Billy Leverence at Billy's Racing Engines, {use to be Oddy's} 716.597.3551, do mods to my 8-71 Kobelco. Ran the motor before and after on the dyno. Picked up 140 hp but we stopped at 6,000 rpm on the dyno, at that point the gap was still widening, between before and after mods.

I'd be pretty skeptical of those numbers......

    PSI Roots

I just sold mine, but I had the ERD deal too with a PSI 2" setback high helix blower and after talking with several people including Carl They told me to Just put the ERD hat spacer deal on there with the 30 percent shoes and spin it at 38 percent over. I was told by a very well known racer who ran several 5.60's in funnycar with it to "not waste my money on any other mods". I have also spoken with PSI about doing the endframe mod where they squirt fuel in the bottom back of the blower (They claim 50 horsepower) but it was $1,000 and a lot of well known people I spoke to questioned the 50 hp number. When I spoke to SSI to do the same thing was like $100.

Just what I found when I did my research but I hope it helps some. Also you should slow down and let Jody and the guys catch up....lol :)

    Best wishes,
    Trevor Sherwood

    Blower Mods.

Guys. Guys! You are not seeing the forest through the trees. Only one person on here came close to the true use of blower mods.

The true use is to make more boost at a lower overdrive, not to make more power than at a higher OD. There are two reasons for blower mods. The first is to make power at a restricted overdrive. The second is to increase the adiabatic efficiency (which is why the mods work any way). You are increasing horsepower because of two things, the correction of air intake and the reduction of parasitic heat.

Oh, Canter is right about PSI blowers. they don't respond to mods as well as others. It may be as he said that they are meant for high rpm od.
