This is a weird one. I have my rig for sale on Racing Junk. Some guy calls me from Baltimore, MD and asks about the truck and what I haul. He asked me if I would sell the operation complete. I send him a few photos and price for the truck, trailer, turn key TAFC with all my tools, spare motors, transmissions, etc. so you know it's a big number. He e-mails me back in 5 min. and says he will take it all and will send a check. What? He doesn't even sound like he is familiar with this kind of car, but he gives me his name, address. Name is Jesse McClain. Is this some type of scam or money laundering? He say's he will send an extra $5g's to deliver it. Even if the check clears, what the hell should I do?

I saw something like that on a Google search. Looks like I will be running in Houston after all! I just wondered if he had tried the same on others.

One time I had several scammers that didn't know what they were buying reply to an ad for a blower I had posted, so I put up another ad for a set of "Goose Springs" for $330.00 and a lady called wanting to buy them.

I have a $45,000 cashier's check drawn on a company in Florida, sent Next Day Air via UPS and I was to cash and send the balance to an address in Maryland. The chack was to pay for a $38,000 trailer I had for sale. Of course, I was to keep an admin fee for my troubles before sending the $7,000. Then, Peter Sonto(name of person "negotiating" with me), would send someone around to pick up the trailer. After receipt of the "check", I got a couple of e-mails complaining about not getting the "extra" money sent to them because they knew I got the check (UPS tracking). Anyhow, I got them, because it did take money to send the check by UPS Next Day Air. I keep the check in my trailer for giggles and good story telling. The whole process from first call to getting check was about 10-14 day. I played them good. JW

either cash the check and wait as long as your bank says to let it clear and be good or tell him to cash it himself and bring cash. I sold a car on here to a nice fellow in canada, he drove down with a cashiers or bank check, i took it to my bank and cashed it before he left. My banker made sure it was good...and it was, no problems. Sold a fed to a dude from cali. he brought nearly 20000.00 cash across country and picked the car up. You can do the sale just make sure of the funds...cash is King. Just don't meet him at night by yourself, I always do broad daylight in the middle of town, plus I'm ALWAYS packing some heat.!

Same clown called me a while back about my complete operation, wasted about 2 hours of my time.
I got his address and checked it on google earth.
Turned out to be an apartment, couldnt even fit the rig in the driveway!
