Just talking with a buddy on the weekend about our cars and both of us have glides. Over the line he throws he whacks it out of gear and some guys have been telling him to let it run down then pull the chutes? What the consences from the auto guys on here? Thanks

Not sure about the rest, but you pull the chutes way before the finish line. The sand trap comes up in a hurry. ;)

    Run it

I pull chutes throw in N and kill fuel. Been doing that for 15 years without seeing any Transmision damage associated with this. An ATI guy at national event asked me would I run my engine with no oil pressure? So I don't really know but would be interested in others experience?

Maybe think about the heat left in the converter if you just kill it? Idling round to the return road , helps keep the converter and trams temp a little , especially if you are going a few rounds

I was schooled to let the motor run for the longevity of the powerglide tranny, because of the converter and fluid heat.
Pull the chutes before the stripe get whoad down, get it in nuetral and just let the motor idle and make the turn out then kill the fuel then mag,..or just as you approach the turn out kill the fuel then then mag.

Of course if you are going for a plug reading your going to have to kill the fuel and mag asap.....
