what would the rod change interval be on my 540 bbc making 30lbs boost turning around 7500 rpm 1/8 mile runs

30 runs max. But hey if you wanna push the window just have a spare long block handy so you can find the breaking point . Look at if this way it's a $1100 insurance policy. Versus a $20,000 dollar one . Why chance it

 

Depends on wich type you have. Ours 3605PRO series should keep up 30-35 1/4 rounds in oure 4.5" stroke 526 hemi widh 40 psi boost shifting at 8500 according to GRP.

 

47 passes here, 526 hemi, 4.5 stroke, 8600 rpm, 3303-pro grp rods. Putting a new set in this year just because.

 

BAE over 60 1/4 mile passes here 46 lbs 9000 rpm 3300 lbs 3 yrs in a row.

 

We put about 100 tractor pulling runs on our Howards rods before changing them, assuming nothing dumb happens, IE, big over rev, lean out a hole and pound out bearing, if the threads don't feel good, etc.

We do have a couple sets of BME rods now, just because we couldn't get Howards fast enough.

Our Chevys are bigger then yours and we turn more RPMs with about the same psi.

 

We went 32 in a 540 with 32 lbs boost and made a window so 30 would be max.
