Using sealant or glues on intake gaskets, good/bad? Whats best?

I am just about to drop the intake on my Bigblock Chevy and was wondering what everybody is doing to keep the gaskets sealed in a high boost situation (around the ports). I used to use the 3m yellow goop on the head side and then just heavy valve grease on the manifold side. This was ok at 27PSI, I'm probably going to be closer to 40PSI with this engine, are my procedures ok for this boost as well? Or is there a better way to ensure the gaskets don't blow out. I'm using the felpro thinner gaskets that you trim to fit, if that makes any difference.

51 psi blew your setup out. Gluing both sides with 3m stuff has worked. Flatout made us a custom set with metal inside but they are .100 thick.

 

We have a procharged BBC that has 43lbs of boost and we use Edelbrock Gasgacinch on the cylinder head side and either Dow Corning 730 or Permatex "Right Stuff" on the manifold side and have never had a problem. We also use the FelPro gaskets.

How is the Gasgacinch for removal? Are the gaskets easy to remove or are they, "tear a bit off at a time" kinda thing?

If you do it right with the Dow Corning 730 the gasket will stay on the head and be reusable. Also, if you are careful you can pull the gasket off the head. The Gasgacinch shouldn't tear the gasket like silicone does. If you decide to use the 730, it only takes a little around the port to seal.
