Has anyone tried a new Fowler F-11 blower yet? Looking for feedback, or would it be better to search the tractor and truck pullers?

Please explain more about this F11.

What did it start life as, a SSI, Kobelco, etc?

    Available in a 14-71 only?

And anything else you can educate us with...

    Fowler

It's my understanding Fowler bought the rights to the Kobelco rotors. I'm guessing this is his version of the K-11.

Did Darren Meyer own those rights at one time?

Is this going to change things in regards to Littlefield using Kobelco rotors?

We knew this was happening long before, and were already getting new ones made before it changed hands, i believe the new ones are better than the K11s

To clarify, we are not having them made by fowler, we have a complete new and different person doing them for us

    fowler buys kobelco

this deal has been in the werks for sometime now. fowler has the sole rights to kobelco rotors and any future rotor made out of kobelco plants. so the kobelco supercharger isnt gone and parts are available for them not just from dmpe. Jeff told me his plan is to have blowers ready when a order is placed, except for mods that are needed no waiting weeks or months for the product, this move will change the market for supply and demand. e Yes kobelco is making the rotors for fowler and fowler only.

    dmpe

Darren told me years ago that Kobelco didn't have much interest in building blowers. I think he supported all the K blowers but basically tooled up to build his own stuff..the M blowers.

It's a really cool story how he devoloped the Kobelco blowers and the Superman back in the day.

I sure wish somebody would tool up and build a new screw...all the money those arabs spent and they never built an updated blower.

Darren has had a new screw on the drawing board for years. The new billet "Super C" PSI screw looks cool, but same old rotors as the C and twice the price for just 8% more air. Hmmm. Dustin Whipple has a neat looking design for a fresh 10.5 or 12 litre screw with modern rotors. You're right, it would be neat to have some fresh new screw designs available to the market. Now if only the rules dudes would apply an open mind......

Other mfg's also are ready to build screw blowers but are waiting for the ok from NHRA to do so , no sense building them if NHRA will not allow them to be used .

Apparently NHRA demands a fully functional prototype before they will approve anything. About 100k in cost and the mfg eats it if they don't give it a greenlight.
Last I knew Darren gave up...With the business practices of the current screw mfg. I would think somebody could put them out of business.

You have that exactly right. I've seen him put the whole manufacturing operation in place, the tooling, equipment and manufacturing processes . . . he's 100% committed to this product. I've also been fortunate to hear some of the numbers back from guys on the dyno and track - impressive to say the least. Jeff is not the type of guy to blow his own horn too much . . . his work and products have and will speak for themselves.

I'm just a street and Bonneville guy, but I'm having him build me a retro F-11 6-71 for a street Hemi . . . polished and the whole schebang. Will post pictures once I get it and have it setup on the engine stand.

CNC Manufacturing: He has the whole blower, components and newly designed parts all in 3D CAD - so he's able to make enhancements, update designs and CNC manufacturer. I'm sure you'll be seeing some exciting new stuff from him for the F-11 line.

    f-11 and others

The best part of the this all is except for rotors fowler builds it all in house like the ssi boys but ssi boys build rotors too. not many others do there own machining in house, have to send it out to a machine shop;) Jeff is a smart business man he knows the supply deal someone calls for one and its on the shelf bingo a sale, not many have invested in inventory of shipping a blower the same day if no mods are needed. fowlers can do it all now in house and have control over finished product, look for this new deal to be the bench mark and new designs to follow.
