    Alternatve to TA/FC

    Ok, just tossed this out. See if any of you get it.

    Comp AA/AM
    F/C body OK
    Max CID = 450, 5.4 lb wt break. 2430 lbs. @450 cid
    Roots blower, standard helix
    Wheelbase = 125 max, 1" offset
    Must be self starting, battery cart allowed, but you must carry a battery on the car.
    National record is 6.52, 204.91

    Maybe fun on the cheap.

    @Diamond Mill, since you have written this to "See if Any Of Us Get It" you can identify yourself a little better from your 2 posts, so that we can tell you that we don't campaign Alcohol Funny Car to run in Comp Eliminator. This forum, last time I looked is for Alcohol Racers.

    Comp (no Disrespect) has their own forum that you may want to post on. I believe it's entitled "InsideCompRacing.com"

    Hey Settle Down Nancy,
    I have a built a car just for this class I have a battery onboard the start deal sucks though.
    This isnt a class u can run on the cheap.

    Yes cause now i need to work that out, used to be able to strap a starter on the blower like any alky car.

    All kidding Aside, I have absolutely no disrespect for anyone that is building a hot rod or campaigning one (ANY CLASS). With all of the alternative racing series that are surfacing as the sanctioning body continues to take more and more, it's a necessity.

    What is not necessary, is a sentence that appears condescending to read "see if any of you get it" especially from an unidentified person who only registered to bring to the attention Comp specified rules when our class currently has WAY larger issues at hand.

    Actually Jirka Kaplin holds the National record in AA/AM
    with a few 5 second runs at over 220 plus mph along with the 6.03 that he backed it up with.

    Jirka went 5.97@229.53 at the divisional 6 race back in May of 2011

    NHRA Doesnt want to publish it in the National dragster too.

    They run Blown Alcohol good enough for me.

    PS,...........BRING BACK PRO COMP that should fill the seats...maybe..???

    AA/AM has been in the Comp rulebook for over 5 years.... Jirka Kaplan, Jake Crimmins, David Sumek have all ran it and done well with it. It's not really set up to just throw a standard helix roots on your FC and go have fun. It's more geared to smaller CID engines.

    If NHRA was going to dump us into Comp, you would see them start a class specifically for us.
