You know, I was looking through an old magazine a couple days ago, it had a nice article on Darrell, written right after his death. It mentioned Blaine, as well. Really well written article. Then I turned the page, and you know who the next article was about?

Eric Medlen.

Talk about the hairs on the back of your neck standing up.

Thanks To Darrell Russell

Bob, I Just wanted you to know I owe my life to Darrell Russell. Thanks to NHRA for making us install the titanium head protector on our Top Alcohol Dragster after Darrell's accident. I recently crashed my car and and had a wing strut or something try to poke a hole in my head protector. I had the same person pull me out of my car that helped Darrell out of his. There is no doubt I would be dead if it weren't for Darrell,s accident and the changes implemented after words. I am so sorry for your,s and the Russell Familie's loss as Darrell was a very nice guy. I know Im a few days late here but I still miss Darrell a lot, think of him all the time. My father won a plaque at a race I think for low qualifier and it was a "Darrell Russell Memorial Low Et Challenge award" in 2004 and its still hanging up in my office at home today. Every time I'm having a bad day or upset about something seeing that plaque and thinking about Darrell gone really puts it all in perspective. I'll never forget Darrell as long as I live and I have so much respect and feelings for Burnell, Gwen, and Chris for all theyve gone thru and how strong they are. Burnell and Gwen are literally two of the nicest, most genuinely "good people" I've ever met and Darrell represented all of that, the guy was just a great, great guy in every sense of the word. I've never met anyone in the world who had one bad thing to say about Darrell ever. The world lost a great man that day and I know many of us will never forget him.

Sadly missed racers

Darrell Russell was one of the greats out there may he drag race up in heaven. We cant forget other ones also like Neil Parker,Blaine Johnson,Mark Niver,Eric Medlen Scott Kalitta,Shelly Howard. I'm sure I missed others may they RIP.

After reading the comments here about Darrell, I ordered and paid for some items from Darrellrussell.com in July, but haven't received anything as of 10/14/2011. I sent an email listed on the website to Chris, but it came back as undeliverable. Does anyone know how to get in touch with someone in the Russell family?
