I built one a while back, we were burning up clutches and converters every weekend. System was attached in between rounds and could cool trans fluid so fast we got condensation inside case, had to slow down how fast we cooled the fluid. End result was valve body issue, are you just wanting to cool between rounds, or are you hurting parts it gets so hot?

well i was only able to make few runs, none of which i was able to make full runs, found converter to loose, and learning what new car and combination likes, found trans temp got to be 230-250.looked inside after each time out seems ok.but when i get combination working want to run some outlaw dragster stuff and where i am at that give much time between rounds so i am tring to get ready for it.thanks for the reply any other advise will be appreciated.michael

What fluid are you running and how full is your L.D. after you've filled and went through the gears? We monitor temp on ours, rarely see above 175 and that is near finish line on 1/4 mi..

Like Brandon said, what fluid are you using? Only one we found to last and only one Lenco recommends is Mobil 1. If you are planning to hot lap send me a PM with E-mail address or contact # and I'll explain how to build one, or you pay for parts and I'll build one and ship it to you.

Rochester Rotational Molding, ( 574-223-0557) they were at the PRI show. I met with them and we have came up with a nice portable cooler. It holds plenty of ice and water it uses a brass headed pump, mounted on wheels and has quick disconnects. Can even get it in colors to match your team’s colors.

    Cooler

Quite honestly if you stuff is set up correctly you do not need a cooler at all. Put an electric leaf blower on the converter between rounds to help move some air around it and go racing! If you are getting so hot that you are burning stuff up then you have something wrong in the converter/trans/or fluid. A cooler is not going to stop the problem, in fact it may make it worse!

If you are at some point during the run adjusting fluid flow to create more torque...your fluid might get warm and cooling it would be a good idea.

    I built my own

the one i built works great it takes 15 minutes to cool lencodrive from 230ish to 150ish
    i used tilton oil cooler
    http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stor...1+2+3+13+1147708&searchTerm=tilton+oil+cooler
and 3 tranny coolers and a fan

then i disassembled the valve body on lencodrive studdied it called lenco (got nowhere ) called alot of people that just wanted a bunch of money to do it for me .
then did it my self if u take time to understand how simple the valve body is then u will have no problem i spent 400dollars on my cooler (had a fan) and 100 on hydrolic hose fittings so total 500 and it works great
if u need help let me know my way may not be the only way but it does work and my tranny is in a 2800 lb door car running low 4s
