    34.5 at 210 MPH

My 34.5's grow to 116 roll out at 200 mph or about 36.8 inches tall at that speed with 6 psi in them. Hope that helps.

Really Fast Crew GuyWith a Measuring Tape Method

Either I have a really really fast crew guy or I used the MPH of my last run (199.77 mph)and calculated the engine rpm / rear gear ratio from my data recorder. Mark Williams website and others have calculators on them. Enter in mph, then engine rpm, then rear gear ratio and it will tell you the roll out of the tire at that speed.

I guess this assumes the tire is round?
Not being a smart A. Doesn't one have to take it with a grain of salt as far as accuracy?
    or
    Distance from center up
    and
    center to ground
    And
    center to rear
    and
    center to front
    to make one really nuts..

*These calculations can vary as much as 5% due to tire growth, wind speed, etc.*
That's the disclaimer on the calculator page, at least by my memory since it wouldn't let me copy/paste......which is a disclaimer in itself........lol

    Tire Growth Round or Not

After my last two cents worth, I got a penny back in change, so here it goes too. About the tire growth and the calculators, I am sure that most online calculators or even hand calculated on paper at my desk, that there are variables to influence the exactness of the computed results. Clutch or convertor slip and tire slip most of all but probably other factors too. Yes, I would take the information with a grain of salt but at least it is still better than using the WAG theory. About the tire growth and whether the rollout is assuming the tire is round, it seems to me that the circumference of an object is the same number of inches around it no matter if it is round, square or hepacozoidal (just made up the last one). A single revolution of the tire would still result in the same number of inches of tire travel. Keep the change.

    Tire Growth

    Danny,
The numbers I gave concerning my 34.5's at 200 mph were calculated using hard numbers from my data recorder, IE: mph, engine rpm and rear gear ratio. My tire roll out changed form the static measurement of 108" roll out to 116" at 200 mph or about 7.4% growth.
Your question about what would your roll out or diameter be using 36" tires is going to be dependant on the mph and probably even which brand of tire you have and possibly even tire pressure, temperature, etc. All that said, I would expect somewhere in the ballpark of 7.4% increase in diameter at 200mph or about a 38.5 inch effective diameter at that speed.
    Hope that helps.

    Tires?

Doesn't the tire make come into play also? I don't think a Hoosier grows as much as a Goodyear. Thats what I've heard anyway. What were you using at the time you came up with this number?

    Tire Growth

Most certainly tire make comes into play. That is why my prior post said "Your question about what would your roll out or diameter be using 36" tires is going to be dependant on the mph and probably even which brand of tire you have and possibly even tire pressure, temperature, etc." MY numbers were with Hoosier C2055 purchased April of 2010, air temp was 79degrees but my answer simply stated the growth that I experienced in MY application. The question posed did not state a brand, nor mph, so I proposed a "ballpark" guess that was not for a specific brand of tire or compound used in the manufacture of that tire. Now THAT being said, if the questioner had given a specific mph, I could have given him a closer growth figure. At this point, it is only theoretical anyways isn't it? Hope this helps.
