" WARNING" I am sure most have heard about Crankshaft speacialties Fraudulant buisness practice but beware there is another partner of his Named Virgil Griffith out of Sadieville Kentucky that is in with this guy. i got ripped off for $1100 on a crank that was supposed to be a Billet Sonny Bryant stroker and was delivered a non billet, non bryant crank with several cracks on every journal. After tons of phone calls to Virgil and his buddys at crankshaft speacialties i am stuck with a boat anchor they say is good and is a bryant crank( several machinst checked this crank out and agreed that it is junk). This guy also has a E-Bay account under HEMIMAN605 do not buy from this CROOK.

Crankshaft Specialists in Memphis, Doug Rowe, Virgil Griffith, Sadieville, Kentucky

I had an incident with both of them myself about a year ago. Virgil was the "middle man", advertised a crank on Ebay but wanted to sell it outside of Ebay. He sounded real enough. Said the used 4.375 hemi crank was "good" and ready to run. I fell for it. I sent him $900 in a money order, after weeks and weeks of excuses, shipped to wrong address, fed ex lost it, box came apart and got it back and had to straighten it, shipped it yesterday, phony fed ex numbers but still no crank for weeks. When one did arrive, I took it straight to my engine guy, he checked it and found it cracked. I called Virgil, he said "well, what did you expect for a $900 crank?" I posted a report on "RipoffReports" and Virgil THEN got Doug Rowe at Crankshaft Specialists to send me another usable crank. When it finally got here, it was actually a 4.500 stroke with 4.375 stamped on top of the original stamping. Still not a stroke that I run but at least it was not cracked. NEVER NEVER EVER do business with Crankshaft Specialists. I should post this in the "scams" section.

That is almost exactly the way it went down for me except for the fact that i didnt get another usable crank, just stuck with the crap they sent me. Virgil swore i didnt know what i was talking about and the crank was perfect,Thats not exactly what 2 reputable crankshaft builders told me after they inspected it. But they had both heard of Crankshaft speacalties and new it when they saw it. They were not surprised. (Wish i lived in Kentucky)

Crankshaft Specialists Memphis Virgil Griffith Sadieville Kentucky

Sad to hear this has gone on for so long. I initially thought that I was just an unhappy buyer of these cranks. I then figured out that I was not the only one, much less the first. When Virgill told me that Doug had sent me a good crank, it was then I went straight to Doug and I told Doug Rowe at Crankshaft Specialists in Memphis that I was going to sue him for sellling me a defective crank, he actually told me, word for word, "YOU CAN'T SUE ME, I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR THIRTY YEARS". I thought he had exagerated the time frame. Now I am believing that it may indeed be thirty years of this type of business. Buyer Beware. Do a search on Crankshaft Specialists Memphis. Click yellowbot, or turbobuick or RipoffReports.com or just about any other result.
    Beware!

Just an FYI: I got a call today from a racing buddy of mine in Fort Worth Texas asking me if there was a difference in Crankshaft Specialties in California and Crankshaft Specialists in Memphis. OH YES, there is a difference. While I have not had any dealings with Crankshaft Specialists in California, I have had some bad experiences with Crankshaft Specialists in Memphis. Be careful who you do business with. I learned the hard way. Do a search on Crankshaft Specialists in Memphis, click yellowbot or turbobuick or just about any result and you will see what I am talking about. Buyer Beware!!

    Ripped OFF!!!!!

This same guy was going to build a new crank for me in 2005, I paid for up front with postal money order big mistake. Never got my crank and after a year of phone calls and I don't know how much time, I got in touch with the state of Tenn. Attourney General, when I told the girl in the office taking calls she knew the guy by name and said oh that guy, said they were very backed up and I never heard anything else, something really needs to be done about this guy. Every time I read he ripped off somebody again I get really mad I had no luck with the attorney general don't know what to do any ideas? He ripped me for 1500.00 I never even got a bad crank Ron
