I've never been around one, but I talked to Mike at B&J about them, and he said that they have almost zero problems with them. I have been trying to find a used one, but nobody wants to get rid of them. I think that says something for them.

No pro mod for me, just my funny car.
I love the fact that the transbrake is air activated, so the brake is independent of the fluid temperature, the fact that you can use it with a B&J or lenco/jeffco. (dual bolt patterns) The fact that I never messed with it, just got a good converter and the maraging input shaft and left it alone. The fact that you can adjust the air dispersion of the transbrake air to adjust the reaction time. I love the fact that the drive is independent of the first gear, so gearing options are as wide as can be. Also, since the first gear is not apart of the drive, it needs no SFI blanket covering the drive. I love the fact that you can get it with a sprag so it can freewheel, or without if you want a little more strength. And I love the fact that Mike, Jeff, Lindsay, Curtis and the guys are as good a people to deal with that I know in the whole of the racing community.
I have two of them for my two cars. Good luck getting them from me. I will sell the cars and quit racing before I give these up.

    I run one in a 3000lbs, 557 KB Olds R980/Whipple, Pro/Mod.
Go with the large input shaft option and do away with the safety sprag and you won't look back.

The transbrake release time can be adjusted, and holds very well. One of the best things is the converter drive oil is totally seperate to the transmission and you can run a oil cooler on it.

You will overheat the oil if you have a convertor that is too loose for your application, or you sit against the brake in stage too long. If you run a convertor temp gauge you will see what makes it happy or not.
I use screw air compressor oil in my convertor drive as it handles the heat well.

I shift on rpm and my trans is a B&J 3 speed.

    time/rpm shifting your b and j

Not trying to hijack the thread but relevant would be who sells a shift solenoid valve rated for the 400#s it takes to shift your B&J on rpm or time?

    Thanks, Bryce

A nitrous solenoid http://www.nitrousdirect.com/solenoids.html should work the small 200hp one has a .078 orifice, I dont think the hole in a Lenco shifter button is any bigger than that but you could use the next bigger one .125 if you thought .078 would slow the shift ( I dont think it would ). There are allot of nitrous controllers such as http://www.dedenbear.com/noc1txt.htm that will shift with time or rpm.
